Lona Wilbur, Swinomish tribal member was elected as Democratic National Committee (DNC) person for Washington State Democratic Party on Saturday, January 26, 2008 during Washington State Democratic Central Committee [WSDCC] Meeting held at Vancouver Red Lion at the Quay in Vancouver, Washington. 154 elected Democratic State Committee Women [SCW] and State Committee Men [SCM] representatives of Washington State regional counties and Legislative Districts convened for quarterly WSDCC meeting to elect 2 DNC male representatives and 2 DNC female representatives to serve 4 year terms to represent the Washington Democratic Party at the National Democratic Party. Ms. Lona Wilbur will be the youngest Democratic National Committee person from Washington State Democratic party to the DNC , and the 5th Native American to serve on the Democratic National Committee.
